ABOUT
Jaime grew up in a small town on the Queensland and New South Wales border, on a sheep and cattle property. Her childhood was reminiscent of poems by Banjo Patterson and Dorothea Mackellar, and she spent her days riding horses, mustering, and swimming in dams (at least when they were full).
Her love for storytelling and writing, which she discovered one day in a small year 4 English class, was encouraged and supported by the community around her, and most importantly her family.
After finishing year 12 at a boarding school in Toowoomba, and helping her parents endure one of the worst droughts in Australian history, Jaime moved to Brisbane to study a Bachelor of Law and Creative Industries (Creative and Professional Writing) at QUT.
Jaime's experiences growing up in the country have taught her resilience, community, and creativity. She cannot wait for the day when she can return the favour, and give back to rural communities in thanks for all that they have done for her. Until then, she continues to write. Her stories are often inspired by the ever changing nature of rural Australia, the delicacy of relationships and the potential of a good thriller,
Her works can be found in various magazines, journals and zines.
